Depression therapy in Tunbridge Wells

Therapy for low mood, loss of motivation and the feeling that nothing is enjoyable any more.

Depression can make even small tasks feel heavy, and it often tells you that nothing will help. Psychological therapy is one of the main treatments recommended for depression, either on its own or alongside medication from your GP.

Together we'll look at the patterns that keep low mood going, such as withdrawal, rumination and self-criticism, and the life events that sit behind it. Therapy is collaborative: you set the goals and we work towards them in steps that are realistic for where you are now.

If you're having thoughts of ending your life, please don't wait for an appointment. Call 999, go to A&E, or call Samaritans free on 116 123, any time of day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have therapy while taking antidepressants?

Yes. Many people do, and therapy can work well alongside medication. Any changes to medication should be discussed with your GP or psychiatrist.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

That's very common, and it's fine. Part of the first session is helping you find words for what's been happening.
